Batteries above 180 Ah are fitted in pairs for 24 V. ## How to choose the right truck battery A truck cranks a 9-13 litre diesel with high compression, often at temperatures below -25 °C on Alpine or Nordic routes. Minimum CCA figures are aggressive (900-1,150 A EN for heavy tractor units) and capacity must sustain long parked periods with auxiliary heating and active fridge. **SHD (Super Heavy Duty)** uses thicker plates than car SLI and tolerates the start-park cycle of haulage.
