It measures 199 Γ— 166 Γ— 171 mm and the positive terminal on the right, the format sought by anyone replacing a 45 Ah battery in power wheelchairs and mobility scooters. - Designed to be discharged and recharged daily without losing capacity. - GEL technology: gelled electrolyte, fully sealed and maintenance-free. - Standard replacement format for wheelchairs and scooters. - Thousands of useful cycles over its lifetime. ### Will it fit your current battery tray? The Long LG45-12 is made in the 199 Γ— 166 Γ— 171 mm format and weighs 15 kg. The positive terminal on the right decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. Checking the three dimensions and the terminal position before buying avoids the most common mistake when replacing a battery. ### What the Long LG45-12 is for The Long LG45-12 is designed for power wheelchairs, mobility scooters and light electric vehicles. Wheelchairs and scooters normally use two identical batteries in series: replace them together. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 15 kg. ### The Long LG45-12: LG Series range and GEL technology The LG45-12 is part of the Long **LG Series** range. Choosing the right reference within the series comes down to capacity, dimensions and terminals: technology and quality are common to the whole family. In a GEL battery the electrolyte is gelled with silica: it is fully sealed, cannot spill and tolerates deep discharge very well. It is the preferred technology in electric mobility, marine service and heavy-cycling applications. ### Why choose Long batteries Long (Kung Long Batteries) is one of the world's largest manufacturers of sealed VRLA batteries. Its AGM and GEL series for UPS, mobility, alarms and cycling are found in equipment worldwide as original equipment. At baterias.com we work directly with the manufacturer or its official distributor: real stock, brand-new product and official warranty. ### Manufacturer's warranty The Long LG45-12 comes with the **manufacturer's official warranty** against manufacturing defects. If it fails through a defect within the warranty period, we replace it at no cost to you. ### Care and maintenance Use the original charger or one compatible with the battery technology (AGM/GEL) and always replace both batteries in the set together. Recharge the wheelchair or scooter after each use and do not leave it discharged for days: lead sulphates and loses capacity. ### When you get it and how to return it Orders placed **before 6:00 pm** with the battery in stock ship the same day. Delivery in mainland Spain and Portugal takes 24-48 working hours; for the Balearic Islands and the rest of the European Union allow 3 to 5 working days. You have **14 days** to return an unused battery; in mainland Spain and Portugal collection is free. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is the Long LG45-12 a GEL battery? What is GEL used for? Yes, this model is a GEL battery: sealed lead-acid where the electrolyte is in gel form. It tolerates deep discharges very well and is ideal for cyclic use (solar, motorhomes, electric wheelchairs, motorcycles). Requires a GEL-specific smart charger β€” max charge voltage ~14.1 V (vs 14.4-14.7 V for AGM). Lifespan 6-10 years. ### How do I change this battery step by step? In most devices it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on our blog. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (βˆ’) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation β€” with positive on the right match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (βˆ’). On devices with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile. ### How long does the Long LG45-12 battery last? Expected lifespan of the Long LG45-12 is 6 to 10 years in cyclic use (marine, caravan, solar) with controlled discharges. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured. ### What are the dimensions of the Long LG45-12 battery? Dimensions (length Γ— width Γ— height) are 199Γ—166Γ—171 mm β€” also written as 199x166x171 mm β€” following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your device before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals. ### Which side is the positive terminal on this battery? Polarity: positive on the right. To identify it, place the battery in front of you with the terminals facing you and check which side the positive (+, marked with a red ring) is on. Before buying, verify the polarity matches your current battery: switching polarity forces longer cables or system reconfiguration, with short-circuit risk. ### Which batteries are equivalent to the Long LG45-12? Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology β€” an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop devices. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level. ## Equivalent batteries - [LONG LG50-12](https://baterias.com/gb/battery-long-lg50-12-12v-50ah) - [LONG LG50-12N](https://baterias.com/gb/battery-long-lg50-12n-12v-50ah) ## Technical team (editorial authorship) The FAQs, guides and comparisons on this site are reviewed by the baterias.com technical team β€” automotive battery specialists since 2012. β†’ https://baterias.com/gb/technical-team --- *baterias.com β€” Automotive batteries Β· 2026-10-28*
