## Description

## NOCO NLP5 12V 2Ah 250A LiFePO4 lithium motorcycle battery

The NOCO NLP5 is a 12 V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) powersport battery with 2 Ah (25.6 Wh) of capacity and 250 A of starting current, in a BCI group 5 format. NOCO rates it as equivalent to a 4.2 Ah lead-acid battery and specifies it for more than 50,000 starts and over 2,000 charge cycles.
Its dynamic BMS enables itself automatically and protects against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit and extreme temperatures, with bi-directional cell balancing and no reset required. Using the lithium mode of a NOCO GENIUS charger it recharges in minutes.
The terminals can be fitted at the front, side or top, while the removable block and modular spacers adapt it to the original battery box. It weighs 0.69 kg.

### Features

- Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, 12.8 V nominal

## Frequently asked questions

### How should this motorcycle battery be charged?

With a 12 V motorcycle charger delivering at most 10 % of its capacity: 0.5 A for its 2 Ah. High-current car chargers can damage it. If the bike is laid up for the winter, keep it on a maintenance charger. As it is lithium, use a charger with a lithium mode: lead-acid chargers can damage it.

### Does it need maintenance?

No: being lithium, it is sealed and nothing needs topping up. Just keep it charged if the bike stands for a long time.

### How many years does this battery last?

Estimated lifespan of the Noco NLP5: 6 to 8 years, using a charger with a lithium mode. Treat it as an approximate guide, as every case is different. It can vary considerably with usage (short or long journeys), temperature, the condition of the alternator and charging system, power drawn with the engine off and maintenance. Cold demands more at every start and intense heat evaporates the electrolyte.

### What are the dimensions of the Noco NLP5 battery?

Its dimensions are 113×70×85 mm, also written 113x70x85 mm; the height already includes the terminals. Check the room available in your motorcycle, because a single millimetre too much can stop the clamp from closing.

### Will the Noco NLP5 battery fit my motorcycle?

Not sure? Try your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA detect model and engine) or the "Compatible vehicles" tab, checked by our technical team; if your motorcycle is not there, send us make, model, engine and year on WhatsApp and we will reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:30–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). Always cross-check with what the motorcycle manufacturer states in the owner's handbook.

### Which interchangeable batteries are there for this one?

Interchangeable means the same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and same CCA; for the NLP5, 2 Ah (250 A cranking). The "Equivalents" section of this page gathers the recommended options with equivalent performance.
