## Description

## NOCO GENIUS5 6V/12V 5A smart battery charger

The NOCO GENIUS5 is a 5 A smart charger and maintainer for 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries (wet, gel, MF, EFB, AGM and calcium) and 12V lithium batteries with BMS. It charges batteries up to 120 Ah and maintains batteries of any size in cars, motorcycles, boats, motorhomes and garden machinery.
It is fully automatic: it can stay connected 24/7 with no risk of overcharging and remembers the last mode used. It charges deeply discharged batteries from 1 V, and Force Mode lets you manually start charging batteries at 0 V. The built-in thermal sensor adjusts charging to the ambient temperature.
It also offers a repair mode for old, sulphated or stratified batteries.

### Features

- Fully automatic charger, maintainer and desulphator
- 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries: wet, gel, MF, EFB, AGM and calcium
- 12V lithium mode for batteries with BMS, including LiFePO4
- Charges discharged batteries from 1 V; Force Mode for batteries at 0 V
- Thermal compensation prevents undercharging in the cold and overcharging in the heat
- Can stay connected 24/7 without overcharging, with auto-memory of the last mode
- Pulse charging that combats sulphation and acid stratification
- Diagnostics for reverse polarity, bad battery and high voltage
- Repair mode for old, sulphated or stratified batteries
- Needle-nose clamps with detachable eyelet terminals for permanent connection

## Frequently asked questions

### Which batteries can this charger charge?

6 V and 12 V batteries with a capacity of 120 Ah: conventional lead-acid, EFB, AGM and GEL. Check first that your battery voltage matches the charger.

### How long does it take to charge a battery?

As a guide, the time from flat is the battery capacity (Ah) divided by the charger current (5 A), plus 20 %: a 100 Ah battery takes about 24 hours. If it is only half discharged, half that time.

### Can I leave it connected to the battery?

Automatic chargers switch to maintenance when they finish and can be left connected. If maintenance charging is not listed in this model's specifications, disconnect it when charging is complete.

### Do I need to remove the battery to charge it?

No, it is usually charged in place: with the engine and ignition off, connect the red clamp to the positive (+) and the black one to the negative (−) or to a metal part of the chassis, then plug in the charger. When finished, unplug it before removing the clamps. Do it in a ventilated place.
