## Why choose a LiFePO4 lithium battery

**Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4)** is the safest and most durable lithium chemistry: thermally stable, no memory effect and a built-in **BMS** protecting against overcharge, over-discharge and short circuit. Compared with lead-acid it offers more real usable capacity (it can be discharged deeply without drastically shortening its life), noticeably faster charging and much lower weight for the same performance.

### **How long does a LiFePO4 lithium battery last?**

Its life is measured in cycles: a quality LiFePO4 withstands several thousand charge/discharge cycles, against a few hundred for a deep-cycle lead-acid battery. In normal use that means many more years of service.

### **Can I replace my lead-acid battery directly with lithium?**

In many service applications (marine, camper, solar) yes, respecting voltage and dimensions, but your charger, solar regulator or alternator must support a lithium-compatible charging profile. They are not starter batteries unless the manufacturer explicitly says so.

### **Is LiFePO4 chemistry safe?**

It is the most thermally stable lithium chemistry and contains no cobalt. The built-in BMS also disconnects the battery in case of overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit or out-of-range temperature.

### **What is the real advantage over AGM?**
