Motobatt motorcycle starters

Motobatt jump starter: always ready for an emergency

A Motobatt JumpStart motorcycle jump starter is a portable booster pack designed to travel with you: under the bike seat, in the glovebox or in your backpack. Pocket-sized, light (300-700 g) and good for a typical 15-30 full starts on a single charge, with a USB port for your phone or GPS and an emergency LED torch with SOS mode.

Which Motobatt model to choose

• Motobatt MB-JS-12 — 500 A peak, 12,000 mAh: motorcycle, scooter, quad and small car up to 3.0L petrol.
• Motobatt MB-JS-20 — 800 A peak, 20,000 mAh: mid-size car, small-mid diesel and small motorhome.

How to use it safely

• Check the charge before the trip (at least 50%); connect the positive clamp to the battery positive first, then the negative clamp to the chassis, away from the positive terminal.
• Crank the engine for a maximum of 5 seconds, wait 30 seconds between attempts and disconnect the negative clamp first.

Frequently asked questions about Motobatt jump starters

What amperage do I need to start my motorcycle?

For a motorcycle, scooter or quad, the MB-JS-12 (500 A peak) is enough; if you will also use it on a mid-size car or small diesel, the MB-JS-20 (800 A) gives more headroom.

Does it work with lithium batteries or only lead-acid?

The jump starter only supplies external current through the clamps, so it works the same with lead-acid, GEL or lithium vehicle batteries; the key point is respecting polarity when connecting.

What is the difference between the MB-JS-12 and MB-JS-20?

The MB-JS-12 covers motorcycle and small car; the MB-JS-20 has more capacity for mid-size car, small-mid diesel and small motorhome.

How many starts does it give before it needs recharging?

Between 15 and 30 full starts on a single charge of the booster, depending on the model and the state of the vehicle battery.
