RITAR HR batteries

Ritar HR batteries are 12V high-rate AGM batteries optimised for high-power discharges over short periods, from 5 to 150 W per cell. This is the series built for rack-mounted UPS systems and applications that demand peak power for minutes rather than hours.

Compared with a standard AGM, a high-rate UPS battery delivers more watts in discharges of just a few minutes — exactly the duty profile of a server-room or datacentre UPS. Sealed maintenance-free VRLA technology, rated in W/cell just as UPS manufacturers specify.

What does "high rate" mean in a battery?

It means the battery is optimised to deliver a lot of power in short discharges of a few minutes, rather than small currents over many hours. That is the typical duty cycle of a UPS.

Why are they rated in W/cell and not just in Ah?

Because UPS systems are sized by power and backup time. The watts-per-cell figure at a 15-minute rate lets you calculate directly how many blocks the unit needs.

What is the difference between Ritar HR and Ritar RT?

The RT is a general-purpose stand-by AGM, while the HR delivers more peak power in short discharges. For a rack UPS with runtimes of minutes, the HR gets more out of every kilo of battery.

Do they need maintenance?

No. They are valve-regulated sealed VRLA batteries: no water topping-up or level checks, just the correct float voltage.

High-rate AGM batteries: maximum power for your UPS

The Ritar HR (High Rate) series is built with plates and internal connections optimised for short, high-current discharges: the typical scenario of a UPS that must hold the load at full power for 5-15 minutes until the generator starts or the servers shut down cleanly. That is why its capacity is expressed in watts per cell (from 5 to 150 W/cell) as well as in Ah.

They are sealed VRLA AGM batteries, maintenance-free and with low self-discharge, suitable for float service inside rack cabinets next to the electronics.

HR12-21W — 12V 5 Ah (21 W/cell), for compact UPS units and network gear.
HR12-90W — 12V 23 Ah (90 W/cell), the usual format in rack UPS systems.
