TROJAN GEL Batteries

TROJAN GEL: deep cycle, heat-resistant

GEL technology replaces the liquid electrolyte with a silica gel, preventing spills, eliminating maintenance and improving high-temperature tolerance compared with an equivalent AGM. TROJAN applies this technology to its century-plus of deep-cycle battery experience.

What the TROJAN GEL is used for

• Mobility scooters and small motorhomes (27-GEL).
• Higher-demand bariatric wheelchairs (31-GEL).
• Maintenance-free golf-carts, at 6V (T-105 GEL).
• High-capacity solar installations and stationary energy (L16-GEL).

Compatibility and how to choose your TROJAN GEL

The 12V models (27-GEL, 31-GEL) directly replace a standard mobility battery; the 6V models (T-105 GEL, L16-GEL) are paired or banked to reach 12V or more, typical in golf-carts and solar systems. If high discharge currents and cold tolerance are your priority, also consider the TROJAN AGM range. Confirm voltage and dimensions with our battery comparator.

Frequently asked questions about TROJAN GEL

What's the difference between TROJAN GEL and TROJAN AGM?

Both are maintenance-free deep-cycle batteries; GEL resists heat and very deep repeated discharges better, while AGM handles cold and high discharge currents better.

Is it compatible with my 36V or 48V golf-cart?

Yes, by wiring several 6V units (T-105 GEL) in series to reach your golf-cart's system voltage.

How long does a TROJAN GEL battery last?

With correct discharge and recharge cycles it typically offers several years of service, especially in hot climates where GEL has an advantage over other technologies.

Is it suitable for home solar power?

Yes, the 360 Ah, 6V L16-GEL model is common in solar installations and stationary energy systems needing large storage capacity.
