Battery finder by VIN (chassis number)

Type in your vehicle identification number and we will show you the compatible batteries, with prices and delivery in 24-48 h.

The VIN (vehicle identification number) pins down your vehicle exactly: make, model, engine and equipment. From those 17 characters we know which battery it left the factory with (capacity, cold cranking amps, size, terminal layout and whether it has Start-Stop) and we only show you the ones that fit. It works for imported cars, foreign-registered vehicles, or when you simply do not have the number plate to hand.

How the battery finder by number plate or VIN works

  1. 1
    Enter the plate or VIN

Type the number plate or the 17 characters of the chassis number (VIN). If you paste a VIN into the plate field, we switch tabs automatically.

  2. 2
    We identify your vehicle

We look up the official technical data to get the make, model, engine and equipment of your vehicle.

  3. 3
We show you the compatible batteries

We filter our catalogue by your vehicle’s technical specifications and show you the most suitable options.

Why look up the battery by VIN?

The VIN follows the same international standard (ISO 3779) everywhere, so it works for vehicles from any country, including imports and foreign-registered cars. It avoids the compatibility mistakes you get when searching by make and model alone: two versions of the same car can take different batteries depending on the engine and equipment.

Where to find the VIN

  1. 1
    Registration document

In the V5C logbook (section E on EU registration documents). It is 17 characters long and never contains the letters I, O or Q.

  2. 2
    Bottom of the windscreen

On a plate visible from outside, in the lower corner of the windscreen on the driver's side.

  3. 3
    Door pillar

On the label inside the driver's door frame, next to the tyre pressure data. Also stamped in the engine bay.

What battery does my car need?

The right battery for your vehicle depends on several factors: engine power, whether the car has Start-Stop, the technology (AGM, EFB or standard) and the size of the battery compartment. With the number plate or chassis number we can identify exactly which battery your car needs without you having to know these technical details.

If your vehicle has a Start-Stop system, you must use a battery specifically designed for it (AGM or EFB), as conventional batteries cannot withstand the additional start cycles.

Frequently asked questions

It is the unique 17-character code the manufacturer assigns to each vehicle (Vehicle Identification Number). It encodes the manufacturer, model, engine and serial number. It never contains the letters I, O or Q, to avoid confusion with digits.
Yes. The VIN is universal: we identify make, model and engine regardless of where the car is registered. It is the best option when the number plate is not Spanish, Portuguese or Italian.
Yes. The VIN does not identify the owner and we only use it to look up the vehicle's technical data and recommend a battery. We do not link it to personal data or share it.
Check that you typed all 17 characters (zeros are not the letter O). If it still does not appear, use the search by number plate, by make, model and engine, or search by capacity (Ah) or by the dimensions of your current battery.
We show the batteries that fit according to the vehicle specifications and the battery manufacturer's application catalogue: capacity, cold cranking amps, size, terminal position and technology (AGM, EFB or conventional). If you are torn between two, our technical team is happy to help.
