The Kronobat DP-190-EFB with EFB technology stores 190 Ah at 12 V: autonomy for motorhomes, caravans and campers that need power off-grid. Its 513 × 223 × 223 mm and the positive terminal on the left make it the exact replacement for the 190 Ah battery fitted as standard to many motorhomes and caravans.

  • Withstands daily discharges throughout the season.
  • EFB: the evolution of the conventional battery for basic Start-Stop cars.
  • Direct replacement for the original leisure battery.
  • Recharges from the alternator, a solar panel or a mains charger.

What the Kronobat DP-190-EFB is for

With 190 Ah, the Kronobat DP-190-EFB is the habitation battery for motorhomes, caravans and campers that need power off-grid. It recharges from the alternator, a solar panel or a mains charger. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 46.99 kg and 1.0 terminals.

Size, terminals and hold-down of the Kronobat DP-190-EFB

The Kronobat DP-190-EFB is made in the 513 × 223 × 223 mm format and weighs 46.99 kg. The positive terminal on the left decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses 1.0 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Before replacing it, measure your current battery tray: if all three dimensions and the terminal positions match, the swap is direct and needs no adapters.

The Kronobat DP-190-EFB: Dual Purpose EFB range and EFB technology

The DP-190-EFB is part of the Kronobat Dual Purpose EFB range. Choosing the right reference within the series comes down to capacity, dimensions and terminals: technology and quality are common to the whole family.

EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) technology reinforces the conventional lead-acid battery with a polyester separator and carbon additives in the plates. It withstands many more start cycles and partial discharges, making it ideal for basic Start-Stop and intensive use.

Kronobat: the maker behind the DP-190-EFB

With Kronobat we offer an own-brand alternative without compromising on quality: European manufacturing, original-equipment controls and the direct backing of baterias.com for warranty and advice. At baterias.com we work directly with the manufacturer or its official distributor: real stock, brand-new product and official warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty

The Kronobat DP-190-EFB comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. Avoid repeated full discharges: they shorten its life and are not covered.

Usage and maintenance tips

A charger with an EFB or smart conventional mode is enough; avoid the high-voltage modes intended for AGM. Avoid routinely discharging the leisure battery below 50% and recharge it fully after every trip.

When you get it and how to return it

Orders placed before 6:00 pm with the battery in stock ship the same day. Delivery in mainland Spain and Portugal takes 24-48 working hours; for the Balearic and Canary Islands and the rest of the European Union allow 3 to 5 working days. You have 14 days to return an unused battery; in mainland Spain and Portugal collection is free. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships.

How to change the battery

Guide to replace the leisure battery of your motorhome or caravan. Estimated time 15-25 minutes. Important: isolate the 12V auxiliary system before handling.

⏱ 15-25 min🛠 Tools: 10 mm or 13 mm wrench · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Switch off 12V equipment and unplug shore power

Turn off fridge, lights, water pump, Truma Mover and other auxiliary loads. Disconnect the 230V shore power and solar panels if any.

  2. Step 2. Locate the leisure battery compartment

On motorhomes usually under the driver/passenger seat, in an outside locker or in the garage area. Verify this is NOT the engine starter battery — that one is up front with the engine.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp with the same wrench. Lift the battery carefully (it can weigh 15-25 kg). Clean the tray with a brush and baking soda if there is corrosion.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the charger and auxiliary services

After connecting, check the combi charger (CBE/Schaudt/Nordelettronica) recognises the new battery: voltage should stabilise at 13.2-13.8 V with 230V connected. Test a couple of services (lights + pump) before heading out.

Frequently asked questions

Is this battery EFB? When is it used?

Yes. The DP-190-EFB is an EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): flooded lead-acid reinforced with plate additives. Withstands more cycles than a conventional but fewer than an AGM. Fitted to caravans with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). More affordable than an equivalent AGM, lifespan 4-6 years.

How is the Kronobat DP-190-EFB battery installed in the vehicle?

In most caravans it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On caravans with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

What is the service life of the DP-190-EFB model?

Expected lifespan of the Kronobat DP-190-EFB is 4 to 6 years in basic Start-Stop caravan use. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the measurements of the DP-190-EFB model?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 513×223×223 mm — also written as 513x223x223 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your caravan before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Does this battery fit my caravan?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The DP-190-EFB typically fits a wide range of European vehicles thanks to its standard DIN case format.

Which batteries are equivalent to the Kronobat DP-190-EFB?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop caravans. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
