Why a digital tester tells you more than a voltmeter

A voltmeter reads resting voltage, but it cannot tell whether the battery will crank the engine cold. A Motobatt digital tester applies a controlled conductance load for 5-10 seconds and returns real CCA (measured cranking current), internal resistance and state of health (SOH): the three figures that predict whether a battery will survive the winter or should be replaced before it fails.

How to use it

What is the difference between a battery tester and a multimeter?

A multimeter only reads resting voltage; a Motobatt tester also measures real CCA and internal resistance under load. A battery can show 12.6 V and still lack the power for a cold start.

Does it work with AGM, GEL and EFB batteries?

Yes. You select the battery type (SLI, EFB, AGM or GEL) before the test, so CCA and SOH are interpreted with the correct curve for each technology.

Can I test the battery without removing it from the vehicle?
