Leisure battery Fulbat FPC12-160 160.8Ah 12V

12VVoltage
160.8AhCapacity

The 12 V, 160.8 Ah Fulbat FPC12-160 battery with AGM technology is designed for motorhomes, caravans and campers that need power off-grid. Measuring 483 × 170 × 238 mm and the positive terminal on the left, it is the direct replacement for motorhomes and caravans fitted from the factory with a 160.8 Ah battery of this format.

  • AGM: faster recharging and better cycle resistance than a conventional battery.
  • Withstands daily discharges throughout the season.
  • Recharges from the alternator, a solar panel or a mains charger.
  • Direct replacement for the original leisure battery.

What the Fulbat FPC12-160 is for

As a leisure battery, the Fulbat FPC12-160 is discharged and recharged every travelling day; avoid discharges below 50% to extend its life. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has BOLT-M6 terminals.

Size, terminals and hold-down of the Fulbat FPC12-160

It has external dimensions of 483 × 170 × 238 mm. The positive terminal on the left decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses BOLT-M6 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Checking the three dimensions and the terminal position before buying avoids the most common mistake when replacing a battery.

Technology inside the Fulbat FPC12-160

Fulbat builds the FPC12-160 to the same standards as the rest of its catalogue; what changes between references is capacity, format and terminal position.

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology seals the electrolyte in glass microfibre. The result is a maintenance-free battery that is highly vibration-resistant and able to withstand deep discharges that would ruin a classic lead-acid battery.

Fulbat: the maker behind the FPC12-160

Fulbat has manufactured in France since 1978 and specialises in motorcycles and light vehicles. Its catalogue is short and clear, covers almost the whole fleet and works only with sealed, leak-free batteries. We guarantee that every Fulbat arrives new, charged and with the manufacturer's full warranty.

Official warranty

The Fulbat FPC12-160 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. Avoid repeated full discharges: they shorten its life and are not covered.

How to make it last longer

Avoid routinely discharging the leisure battery below 50% and recharge it fully after every trip. Charge with a charger that has an AGM mode: it limits the voltage and protects the glass-fibre separators.

When you get it and how to return it

Orders placed before 6:00 pm with the battery in stock ship the same day. Delivery in mainland Spain and Portugal takes 24-48 working hours; for the Balearic and Canary Islands and the rest of the European Union allow 3 to 5 working days. You have 14 days to return an unused battery; in mainland Spain and Portugal collection is free. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships.

How to change the battery

Guide to replace the leisure battery of your motorhome or caravan. Estimated time 15-25 minutes. Important: isolate the 12V auxiliary system before handling.

⏱ 15-25 min🛠 Tools: 10 mm or 13 mm wrench · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Switch off 12V equipment and unplug shore power

Turn off fridge, lights, water pump, Truma Mover and other auxiliary loads. Disconnect the 230V shore power and solar panels if any.

  2. Step 2. Locate the leisure battery compartment

On motorhomes usually under the driver/passenger seat, in an outside locker or in the garage area. Verify this is NOT the engine starter battery — that one is up front with the engine.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp with the same wrench. Lift the battery carefully (it can weigh 15-25 kg). Clean the tray with a brush and baking soda if there is corrosion.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the charger and auxiliary services

After connecting, check the combi charger (CBE/Schaudt/Nordelettronica) recognises the new battery: voltage should stabilise at 13.2-13.8 V with 230V connected. Test a couple of services (lights + pump) before heading out.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Fulbat FPC12-160 battery installed in the vehicle?

In most caravans it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On caravans with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

How long does the Fulbat FPC12-160 battery last?

Expected lifespan of the Fulbat FPC12-160 is 4 to 7 years in regular use (depends on technology and climate). In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the measurements of the FPC12-160 model?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 483×170×239 mm — also written as 483x170x239 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your caravan before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Does this battery fit my caravan?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The FPC12-160 typically fits a wide range of European vehicles thanks to its standard DIN case format.

Which interchangeable batteries are there for this one?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop caravans. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
