The standard fit is SHD AGM or SHD EFB in a 24 V series bank (2 × 12 V) with high capacities to handle fleet auxiliary loads.

Why AGM SHD on public transport

An urban bus starts and stops countless times a day and, more importantly, holds heavy auxiliary loads while standing still (door open, PRM ramp, full AC waiting to depart). A standard SLI loses capacity in months with that profile. SHD AGM tolerates the repeated partial cycling — it is what protects the fleet capex — and SHD EFB is the balanced alternative for fleets that prefer not to go full AGM.
