Is a regular truck battery enough for city buses?

Only on light intercity duty. In urban service with constant stops, going to SHD AGM or SHD EFB delivers much more life — classic SLI is not cost-effective.

How long does shipping take?

Why AGM SHD on public transport

An urban bus starts and stops countless times a day and, more importantly, holds heavy auxiliary loads while standing still (door open, PRM ramp, full AC waiting to depart). A standard SLI loses capacity in months with that profile. SHD AGM tolerates the repeated partial cycling — it is what protects the fleet capex — and SHD EFB is the balanced alternative for fleets that prefer not to go full AGM.

Typical fleet capacities

Vehicle	Capacity	CCA	Technology
12 m city bus	180-220 Ah (24 V bank)	1,000-1,150 A	SHD AGM / SHD EFB
18 m articulated bus	200-225 Ah (24 V bank)	1,000-1,150 A	SHD AGM
Intercity coach	180-220 Ah (24 V bank)	1,000-1,150 A	SHD AGM / SHD EFB
Tram auxiliary backup	180-225 Ah (24 V bank)	1,000-1,150 A	SHD AGM

Fleet replacement is always in pairs across the 24 V bank — strong unit economics but operations demand homogeneity.
