The 12 V, 110 Ah Ritar FT12-110 stationary battery from the FT range with AGM technology is designed for UPS, alarms, telecoms and emergency lighting. Its 410 × 109 × 286 mm make it the exact replacement for the 110 Ah battery fitted as standard to many UPS, alarm and emergency systems.

  • Standard format for UPS and emergency systems.
  • Low self-discharge and high reliability.
  • Instant response to mains failures.
  • AGM: faster recharging and better cycle resistance than a conventional battery.

What the Ritar FT12-110 is for

Designed for UPS, alarms, telecoms and emergency lighting, the Ritar FT12-110 is sealed, gas-free and suitable for technical cabinets and offices. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 33 kg and M8 terminals.

Size, terminals and hold-down of the Ritar FT12-110

In terms of format, the Ritar FT12-110 measures 410 × 109 × 286 mm (length × width × height) and weighs 33 kg. It uses M8 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Checking the three dimensions and the terminal position before buying avoids the most common mistake when replacing a battery.

The Ritar FT12-110: FT range and AGM technology

The FT is the Ritar range the FT12-110 belongs to: it shares the same construction and quality criteria with the rest of the series, and varies in capacity and format to suit each vehicle.

AGM means the acid is held in a glass mat instead of floating free. That is why the battery can be installed in the cabin without gases, survives more cycles and recovers its charge quickly.

What Ritar does differently

Ritar is one of the world's largest VRLA battery manufacturers. Its RA, RT, RL, HR and FT series equip UPS, telecoms and solar systems worldwide with very consistent quality. All the Ritar batteries in our catalogue are genuine product, recently manufactured and covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty

The Ritar FT12-110 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. If it fails through a defect within the warranty period, we replace it at no cost to you.

How to make it last longer

Check the float voltage of the UPS or charger: a voltage that is too high shortens the life of a sealed battery. Charge with a charger that has an AGM mode: it limits the voltage and protects the glass-fibre separators.

When you get it and how to return it

Same-day dispatch from our warehouse for in-stock orders placed before 6:00 pm: 24-48 working hours in mainland Spain and Portugal, 3 to 5 days in the islands and the rest of Europe. Returns are accepted for 14 days if the battery has not been used (free collection on the Iberian mainland). You will receive tracking by email.

How to change the battery

Guide to replace a cyclic battery (12V 4-30Ah) for UPS, mobility scooter, alarm or backup device. Estimated time 10-15 minutes. Important: discharge residual voltage before handling.

⏱ 10-15 min🛠 Tools: Screwdriver or small wrench (3-5 mm typical) · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Power off and unplug the device

Unplug the device (UPS, scooter, alarm) and leave it off for at least 30 seconds to discharge residual capacitor voltage. Work on an insulating surface.

  2. Step 2. Locate the battery compartment

Usually under the seat (mobility scooter/wheelchair), in the rear module of the UPS, or behind a side panel with screws. Check the device manual for unusual models.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) first

With insulated gloves, remove the negative (−) cable first. Some UPS have protection fuses — note their position before removing.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Typical weight 1-15 kg depending on capacity. Many cyclic batteries are AGM/GEL — keep them upright. Do NOT invert the battery: even sealed, residue may exist.

  6. Step 6. Fit the new battery

Same orientation and type (AGM, GEL or flooded). Polarity must match the device, not a chassis (this is not a car). Make sure terminals do not touch metal parts of the compartment.

  7. Step 7. Connect the positive (+) first

On cyclic devices the order is reversed compared to cars: positive (+) first, negative (−) afterwards. Tighten without forcing — the plastic terminal housing of cyclic batteries damages easily.

  8. Step 8. Initial charge before first use

Cyclic batteries ship at 60-80%. Before first use, connect the device charger for 8-12 hours (or use an AGM/GEL smart charger if available). This avoids short cycles and extends lifespan.

Frequently asked questions

Is this battery AGM? What is it for?

Yes. The FT12-110 from Ritar uses AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology: a sealed lead-acid battery where the electrolyte is absorbed in a glass-fibre mat. It withstands more charge/discharge cycles than a conventional one, handles heat better and is the required technology for devices with advanced Start-Stop and regenerative braking. Expected lifespan: 5-8 years under normal conditions.

How is the Ritar FT12-110 battery installed in the vehicle?

In most devices it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On devices with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

What is the service life of the FT12-110 model?

Expected lifespan of the Ritar FT12-110 is 5 to 8 years in mild-climate device use with Start-Stop. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the dimensions of the Ritar FT12-110 battery?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 410×109×286 mm — also written as 410x109x286 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your device before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

What are the equivalents of the FT12-110 model?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop devices. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
