The Tudor TG1251 with conventional lead-acid technology delivers 125 Ah at 12 V and 760 A of cold cranking current (EN): what trucks, buses, tractors and heavy machinery demand. It measures 349 × 175 × 285 mm and the positive terminal on the left, the format sought by anyone replacing a 125 Ah battery in trucks.

  • Heavy Duty construction for intensive professional use.
  • Conventional lead-acid: the most proven and economical technology.
  • Designed for 24 V installations with two batteries in series.
  • Powerful cold cranking for large-displacement diesel engines.

What the Tudor TG1251 is for

The Tudor TG1251 is designed for trucks, buses, tractors and heavy machinery. In 24 V installations with two batteries in series, replace both at the same time to avoid imbalance. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 29.50 kg, EN taper post terminals and B0 hold-down.

Size, terminals and hold-down of the Tudor TG1251

The Tudor TG1251 is made in the 349 × 175 × 285 mm format and weighs 29.50 kg. The positive terminal on the left decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses a B0 hold-down and EN taper post terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Before replacing it, measure your current battery tray: if all three dimensions and the terminal positions match, the swap is direct and needs no adapters.

What Tudor does differently

Tudor has made batteries in Spain for more than a century and remains one of the brands most trusted by Spanish workshops for reliability and value. We guarantee that every Tudor arrives new, charged and with the manufacturer's full warranty.

The Tudor TG1251: Start PRO (Hd) range and conventional lead-acid technology

The TG1251 is part of the Tudor Start PRO (Hd) range. Choosing the right reference within the series comes down to capacity, dimensions and terminals: technology and quality are common to the whole family.

Conventional lead-acid is the benchmark against which other technologies are compared: good cranking current, great tolerance to alternator charging and the best price per amp-hour.

Usage and maintenance tips

In 24 V installations, check periodically that both batteries show the same voltage; an imbalance means one is failing. On batteries with filler caps, check the electrolyte level and top up only with distilled water.

Manufacturer's warranty

The Tudor TG1251 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. An important note for commercial vehicles: most trucks use two batteries connected in series (24 V installation). If you replace only one, the new battery works alongside the old one, which has already lost capacity; that imbalance shortens its life and the manufacturer may treat it as misuse. Always replace both at the same time.

Delivery times and returns

Orders placed before 6:00 pm with the battery in stock ship the same day. Delivery in mainland Spain and Portugal takes 24-48 working hours; for the Balearic Islands and the rest of the European Union allow 3 to 5 working days. You have 14 days to return an unused battery; in mainland Spain and Portugal collection is free. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships.

How to change the battery

Guide to replace a truck battery in 30-60 minutes. Truck batteries weigh 25-50 kg — we recommend working in pairs and using a carrying strap.

⏱ 30-60 min🛠 Tools: 13 mm or 17 mm wrench (depending on make) · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Prepare the vehicle

Park on a flat surface, switch off the engine and remove the key. Make sure all lights and electrical accessories are off. Wait 1-2 minutes before starting.

  2. Step 2. Locate the battery

Open the bonnet. The battery is usually in the engine bay, but in many modern cars it may be in the boot or under the passenger seat. Check the manual if you cannot find it.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery (two people)

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp. Truck batteries weigh 25-50 kg — lift in pairs with gloves and a carrying strap. Forcing the lift alone risks back injury.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the engine starts

Close the bonnet. Start the engine to confirm everything works. On cars with Start-Stop or a BMS, you may need to register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Tudor TG1251 battery installed in the vehicle?

In most trucks it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On trucks with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

What is the service life of the TG1251 model?

Expected lifespan of the Tudor TG1251 is 4 to 6 years in regular truck use without Start-Stop. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the dimensions of the Tudor TG1251 battery?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 349×175×285 mm — also written as 349x175x285 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your truck before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Will the Tudor TG1251 battery fit my truck?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The TG1251 fits 210 verified vehicle versions in our database.

What are the equivalents of the TG1251 model?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop trucks. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
