The Varta YTX12-4 motorcycle battery (reference 510909017) is the 12 V, 10 Ah model with 170 A of cold cranking power (EN) from Varta's Powersports AGM Active (formerly Powersports AGM High Performance) range, designed for motorcycles, scooters, quads and personal watercraft. It replaces the original battery in motorcycles with the 150 × 87 × 130 mm format without any modifications: the same 10 Ah capacity and the same terminal layout (positive on the left).

Format and fitting of the Varta YTX12-4

Its external dimensions are 150 × 87 × 130 mm. The positive terminal on the left determines which side the cables end up on: it is the detail behind most mistaken purchases, so it is worth checking before ordering. It uses a B00 hold-down, the system that anchors it to the vehicle's battery tray. Before replacing it, measure the space your current battery sits in: if it matches on all three dimensions and on the terminal layout, the swap is direct and needs no adapters.
