How long does it take to charge a battery?
As a guide, the time from flat is the battery capacity (Ah) divided by the charger current (1 A), plus 20 %: a 20 Ah battery takes about 24 hours. If it is only half discharged, half that time.
Can I leave it connected to the battery?
Yes: it has a maintenance mode (2-250Ah). Once the battery is full it switches to keeping it topped up, so you can leave it connected, for example while the vehicle is laid up for the winter.
Do I need to remove the battery to charge it?
No, it is usually charged in place: with the engine and ignition off, connect the red clamp to the positive (+) and the black one to the negative (−) or to a metal part of the chassis, then plug in the charger. When finished, unplug it before removing the clamps. Do it in a ventilated place.
