The Exide EL752 with EFB technology delivers the 75 Ah at 12 V and 730 A of cold cranking current (EN) that cars with Start-Stop, regenerative braking and heavy electrical loads need. Measuring 315 × 175 × 175 mm and the positive terminal on the right, it is the direct replacement for Start-Stop cars fitted from the factory with a 75 Ah battery of this format.

  • Keeps comfort loads running with the engine off at the lights.
  • Direct replacement for the original Start-Stop battery.
  • EFB: the evolution of the conventional battery for basic Start-Stop cars.
  • Fast recharge on the move thanks to low internal resistance.

What the Exide EL752 is for

The Exide EL752 is designed for cars with Start-Stop, regenerative braking and heavy electrical loads. If your car was fitted with an AGM or EFB battery, always replace it with the same technology: a conventional model would degrade within months. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 18.60 kg, 1 terminals and B13 hold-down.

Will it fit your current battery tray?

In terms of format, the Exide EL752 measures 315 × 175 × 175 mm (length × width × height) and weighs 18.60 kg. The positive terminal on the right decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses a B13 hold-down and 1 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Before replacing it, measure your current battery tray: if all three dimensions and the terminal positions match, the swap is direct and needs no adapters.

Technology inside the Exide EL752

The EL752 is one of the Exide references for this type of use; it shares the same manufacturing and quality-control criteria as the rest of the brand's catalogue.

EFB combines the robustness of the flooded battery with improved plates and separators. The result is a clearly longer service life in vehicles that start and stop constantly.

Exide: the maker behind the EL752

With more than a century of history, Exide Technologies manufactures automotive, marine, motorcycle and industrial batteries in Europe. Its presence as original equipment on assembly lines vouches for the quality of every reference. We guarantee that every Exide arrives new, charged and with the manufacturer's full warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty

The Exide EL752 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty. To keep it valid, always fit the same technology as the original battery (AGM or EFB) and register the replacement if your vehicle requires it.

How to make it last longer

In a Start-Stop car the battery is controlled by the ECU; after replacing it, the new battery may need to be registered so the system adjusts charging. A charger with an EFB or smart conventional mode is enough; avoid the high-voltage modes intended for AGM.

Shipping, delivery and returns

Same-day dispatch from our warehouse for in-stock orders placed before 6:00 pm: 24-48 working hours in mainland Spain and Portugal, 3 to 5 days in the islands and the rest of Europe. Returns are accepted for 14 days if the battery has not been used (free collection on the Iberian mainland). You will receive tracking by email.

How to change the battery

Step-by-step guide to replace your car battery in 15-30 minutes (longer if the battery is under the seat or in the boot) without losing vehicle settings.

⏱ 15-30 min🛠 Tools: 10 mm wrench · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Prepare the vehicle

Park on a flat surface, switch off the engine and remove the key. Make sure all lights and electrical accessories are off. Wait 1-2 minutes before starting.

  2. Step 2. Locate the battery

Open the bonnet. The battery is usually in the engine bay, but in many modern cars it may be in the boot or under the passenger seat. Check the manual if you cannot find it.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp with the same wrench. Lift the battery carefully (it can weigh 15-25 kg). Clean the tray with a brush and baking soda if there is corrosion.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the engine starts

Close the bonnet. Start the engine to confirm everything works. On cars with Start-Stop or a BMS, you may need to register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Exide EL752 an EFB battery? When is EFB used?

Yes. The EL752 is an EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): flooded lead-acid reinforced with plate additives. Withstands more cycles than a conventional but fewer than an AGM. Fitted to cars with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). More affordable than an equivalent AGM, lifespan 4-6 years.

Is the EL752 model suitable for Start-Stop cars?

Yes. As EFB technology it is designed for Start-Stop vehicles. EFB batteries cover basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). EFB is recommended for basic Start-Stop; AGM is recommended when regenerative braking is also present, thanks to its higher cycle capability. It works straight out of the box — on most modern vehicles registering the battery via OBD is recommended so the alternator automatically applies the optimal charging profile.

How is the Exide EL752 battery installed in the vehicle?

In most cars it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On cars with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

How long does the Exide EL752 battery last?

Expected lifespan of the Exide EL752 is 4 to 6 years in basic Start-Stop car use. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the measurements of the EL752 model?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 315×175×175 mm — also written as 315x175x175 mm and correspond to the European LB4 case size — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your car before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Will the Exide EL752 battery fit my car?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The EL752 fits 67 verified vehicle versions in our database.

Which batteries are equivalent to the Exide EL752?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop cars. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.

What exactly is an EFB battery like the Exide EL752?

An EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is a flooded lead-acid battery reinforced with plate additives (carbon and polyethylene) and thicker grids. It withstands twice the cycles of a conventional battery and handles deep discharges better, but less than an AGM. It is the original fitment on cars with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking): Renault Energy TCe, Peugeot/Citroën PureTech, Fiat MultiAir, Hyundai/Kia ISG, Ford EcoBoost. If your car came with EFB from the factory, this is the correct battery — upgrading to AGM is optional (marginal improvement). If it came with AGM, EFB may fall short: better fit AGM. The Exide EL752 is original and meets EN 50342-6.

Do I need to register the Exide EL752 on the car after installation?

On most cars it is not strictly necessary — the alternator detects the new battery and adapts the charge automatically. It is recommended to register the battery via OBD so that the alternator applies the optimal charging profile from the first minute and extends the battery life as much as possible (especially on brands with sophisticated BMS: BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover). Any workshop with an OBD scanner (~10-15 € labour) does it in 5 minutes. DIY apps: VCDS / Carista (VAG), Bimmercode (BMW), iCarsoft. If you do not register, the car will still start correctly — the alternator just takes a few days to adjust the profile. The Exide EL752 ships factory-charged at 80-90% so you can use it straight after fitting.
