The Tudor TL605 Start-Stop battery offers 12 V, 60 Ah and 520 A of cold cranking current (EN) from the EFB Microhybrid range with EFB technology, and is built for cars with Start-Stop, regenerative braking and heavy electrical loads. Its 230 × 173 × 222 mm and the positive terminal on the left make it the exact replacement for the 60 Ah battery fitted as standard to many Start-Stop cars.

  • Direct replacement for the original Start-Stop battery.
  • Keeps comfort loads running with the engine off at the lights.
  • Fast recharge on the move thanks to low internal resistance.
  • EFB: the evolution of the conventional battery for basic Start-Stop cars.

Will it fit your current battery tray?

The Tudor TL605 is made in the 230 × 173 × 222 mm format and weighs 15.40 kg. The positive terminal on the left decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. For a direct replacement, the current battery tray must accept these dimensions and the same terminal layout; otherwise adapters will be needed or the hold-down will change.

What the Tudor TL605 is for

In Start-Stop cars the battery works far harder than in a conventional car; the Tudor TL605 is built for that intensive cycling and to recharge quickly on the move. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 15.40 kg.

The Tudor TL605: EFB Microhybrid range and EFB technology

Within the Tudor catalogue, the EFB Microhybrid series groups the references designed for this use. The TL605 is the 60 Ah model of that family, with the same performance as its siblings in other sizes.

An EFB is a reinforced flooded battery: its plates retain the active material better and tolerate the cycling imposed by a simple Start-Stop system, at a lower cost than an AGM.

What Tudor does differently

Tudor has made batteries in Spain for more than a century and remains one of the brands most trusted by Spanish workshops for reliability and value. All the Tudor batteries in our catalogue are genuine product, recently manufactured and covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Warranty and coverage

The Tudor TL605 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty. To keep it valid, always fit the same technology as the original battery (AGM or EFB) and register the replacement if your vehicle requires it.

Care and maintenance

In a Start-Stop car the battery is controlled by the ECU; after replacing it, the new battery may need to be registered so the system adjusts charging. If the vehicle only does very short trips, a periodic maintenance charge with an AGM/EFB-compatible charger greatly extends its life.

When you get it and how to return it

Orders placed before 6:00 pm with the battery in stock ship the same day. Delivery in mainland Spain and Portugal takes 24-48 working hours; for the Balearic Islands and the rest of the European Union allow 3 to 5 working days. You have 14 days to return an unused battery; in mainland Spain and Portugal collection is free. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships.

How to change the battery

Step-by-step guide to replace your car battery in 15-30 minutes (longer if the battery is under the seat or in the boot) without losing vehicle settings.

⏱ 15-30 min🛠 Tools: 10 mm wrench · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Prepare the vehicle

Park on a flat surface, switch off the engine and remove the key. Make sure all lights and electrical accessories are off. Wait 1-2 minutes before starting.

  2. Step 2. Locate the battery

Open the bonnet. The battery is usually in the engine bay, but in many modern cars it may be in the boot or under the passenger seat. Check the manual if you cannot find it.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp with the same wrench. Lift the battery carefully (it can weigh 15-25 kg). Clean the tray with a brush and baking soda if there is corrosion.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the engine starts

Close the bonnet. Start the engine to confirm everything works. On cars with Start-Stop or a BMS, you may need to register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Tudor TL605 an EFB battery? When is EFB used?

Yes. The TL605 is an EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): flooded lead-acid reinforced with plate additives. Withstands more cycles than a conventional but fewer than an AGM. Fitted to cars with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). More affordable than an equivalent AGM, lifespan 4-6 years.

Is the Tudor TL605 battery suitable for Start-Stop?

Yes. As EFB technology it is designed for Start-Stop vehicles. EFB batteries cover basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). EFB is recommended for basic Start-Stop; AGM is recommended when regenerative braking is also present, thanks to its higher cycle capability. It works straight out of the box — on most modern vehicles registering the battery via OBD is recommended so the alternator automatically applies the optimal charging profile.

How do I fit the TL605 model in my car?

In most cars it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On cars with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

How long does the Tudor TL605 battery last?

Expected lifespan of the Tudor TL605 is 4 to 6 years in basic Start-Stop car use. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What are the dimensions of the Tudor TL605 battery?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 230×173×222 mm — also written as 230x173x222 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your car before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Is the TL605 valid for my vehicle?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The TL605 fits 126 verified vehicle versions in our database.

Which batteries are equivalent to the Tudor TL605?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop cars. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.

What exactly is an EFB battery like the Tudor TL605?

An EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is a flooded lead-acid battery reinforced with plate additives (carbon and polyethylene) and thicker grids. It withstands twice the cycles of a conventional battery and handles deep discharges better, but less than an AGM. It is the original fitment on cars with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking): Renault Energy TCe, Peugeot/Citroën PureTech, Fiat MultiAir, Hyundai/Kia ISG, Ford EcoBoost. If your car came with EFB from the factory, this is the correct battery — upgrading to AGM is optional (marginal improvement). If it came with AGM, EFB may fall short: better fit AGM. The Tudor TL605 is original and meets EN 50342-6.

Do I need to register the Tudor TL605 on the car after installation?

On most cars it is not strictly necessary — the alternator detects the new battery and adapts the charge automatically. It is recommended to register the battery via OBD so that the alternator applies the optimal charging profile from the first minute and extends the battery life as much as possible (especially on brands with sophisticated BMS: BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover). Any workshop with an OBD scanner (~10-15 € labour) does it in 5 minutes. DIY apps: VCDS / Carista (VAG), Bimmercode (BMW), iCarsoft. If you do not register, the car will still start correctly — the alternator just takes a few days to adjust the profile. The Tudor TL605 ships factory-charged at 80-90% so you can use it straight after fitting.
