The 12 V, 105 Ah Kronobat DP-105-AGM battery from the Dual Purpose AGM range with AGM technology is designed for motorhomes, caravans and campers that need power off-grid. Its 394 × 175 × 190 mm and the positive terminal on the right make it the exact replacement for the 105 Ah battery fitted as standard to many motorhomes and caravans.

  • Direct replacement for the original leisure battery.
  • Recharges from the alternator, a solar panel or a mains charger.
  • Withstands daily discharges throughout the season.
  • AGM: faster recharging and better cycle resistance than a conventional battery.

What the Kronobat DP-105-AGM is for

As a leisure battery, the Kronobat DP-105-AGM is discharged and recharged every travelling day; avoid discharges below 50% to extend its life. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 29.40 kg and 1.0 terminals.

Will it fit your current battery tray?

In terms of format, the Kronobat DP-105-AGM measures 394 × 175 × 190 mm (length × width × height) and weighs 29.40 kg. The positive terminal on the right decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses 1.0 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. For a direct replacement, the current battery tray must accept these dimensions and the same terminal layout; otherwise adapters will be needed or the hold-down will change.

The Kronobat DP-105-AGM: Dual Purpose AGM range and AGM technology

The Dual Purpose AGM is the Kronobat range the DP-105-AGM belongs to: it shares the same construction and quality criteria with the rest of the series, and varies in capacity and format to suit each vehicle.

AGM means the acid is held in a glass mat instead of floating free. That is why the battery can be installed in the cabin without gases, survives more cycles and recovers its charge quickly.

Why choose Kronobat batteries

With Kronobat we offer an own-brand alternative without compromising on quality: European manufacturing, original-equipment controls and the direct backing of baterias.com for warranty and advice. All the Kronobat batteries in our catalogue are genuine product, recently manufactured and covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty

The Kronobat DP-105-AGM comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. Avoid repeated full discharges: they shorten its life and are not covered.

How to make it last longer

Charge with a charger that has an AGM mode: it limits the voltage and protects the glass-fibre separators. Avoid routinely discharging the leisure battery below 50% and recharge it fully after every trip.

When you get it and how to return it

Order before 6:00 pm with stock available and it leaves today: mainland Spain and Portugal receive it in 24-48 working hours, the islands and the rest of the EU in 3 to 5 days. You have 14 days to return it if it has not been installed, with free collection on the mainland, and shipment tracking by email.

How to change the battery

Guide to replace the leisure battery of your motorhome or caravan. Estimated time 15-25 minutes. Important: isolate the 12V auxiliary system before handling.

⏱ 15-25 min🛠 Tools: 10 mm or 13 mm wrench · Protective gloves
  1. Step 1. Switch off 12V equipment and unplug shore power

Turn off fridge, lights, water pump, Truma Mover and other auxiliary loads. Disconnect the 230V shore power and solar panels if any.

  2. Step 2. Locate the leisure battery compartment

On motorhomes usually under the driver/passenger seat, in an outside locker or in the garage area. Verify this is NOT the engine starter battery — that one is up front with the engine.

  3. Step 3. Disconnect the negative (−) terminal

Use the 10 mm wrench to loosen the negative cable nut (black, marked −) and remove the cable from the post. Move it aside so it cannot touch any bodywork.

  4. Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal

Repeat with the positive cable (red, marked +). Important: never let a terminal touch metal of the car while the other is still connected.

  5. Step 5. Remove the old battery

Loosen the bottom hold-down clamp with the same wrench. Lift the battery carefully (it can weigh 15-25 kg). Clean the tray with a brush and baking soda if there is corrosion.

  6. Step 6. Install the new battery

Place the battery in the same orientation as the old one (positive terminal on the same side). Tighten the hold-down clamp firmly.

  7. Step 7. Connect the cables

Connect the positive (+) terminal first, then the negative (−). Tighten the nuts with the wrench until each terminal does not move. Apply anti-spark grease if you have any.

  8. Step 8. Verify the charger and auxiliary services

After connecting, check the combi charger (CBE/Schaudt/Nordelettronica) recognises the new battery: voltage should stabilise at 13.2-13.8 V with 230V connected. Test a couple of services (lights + pump) before heading out.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Kronobat DP-105-AGM an AGM battery and what are the benefits of AGM?

Yes. The DP-105-AGM from Kronobat uses AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology: a sealed lead-acid battery where the electrolyte is absorbed in a glass-fibre mat. It withstands more charge/discharge cycles than a conventional one, handles heat better and is the required technology for caravans with advanced Start-Stop and regenerative braking. Expected lifespan: 5-8 years under normal conditions.

How is the Kronobat DP-105-AGM battery installed in the vehicle?

In most caravans it fits in 15-30 minutes with a 10 mm wrench; if the battery is under the seat or in the boot the time can double. See the step-by-step guide on this page. Quick summary: 1) switch off the engine and remove the key; 2) locate the original battery (engine bay, boot or under seat); 3) disconnect the negative (−) terminal first, then the positive (+); 4) loosen the hold-down clamp and remove the old battery; 5) fit the new one in the same orientation — match the polarity shown on the product sheet; 6) connect the positive (+) first, then the negative (−). On caravans with Start-Stop or BMS, register the battery via OBD so the alternator applies the correct charging profile.

How many years does this battery last?

Expected lifespan of the Kronobat DP-105-AGM is 5 to 8 years in mild-climate caravan use with Start-Stop. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.

What size is this battery?

Dimensions (length × width × height) are 394×175×190 mm — also written as 394x175x190 mm and correspond to the European L6 case size — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your caravan before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.

Is the DP-105-AGM valid for my vehicle?

Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:40–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The DP-105-AGM typically fits a wide range of European vehicles thanks to its standard DIN case format.

What are the equivalents of the DP-105-AGM model?

Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop caravans. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
