Truck battery Fulmen FE1853 StrongPRO EFB+ 185Ah 1,100A 12V
With 185 Ah and 1,100 A of cold cranking current (EN), the Fulmen FE1853 from the StrongPRO EFB+ range is built for professional use in trucks, buses, tractors and heavy machinery. Its 513 × 223 × 223 mm and the positive terminal on the left make it the exact replacement for the 185 Ah battery fitted as standard to many trucks.
In short: the Fulmen FE1853 (185 Ah, 1100 A, 513 × 223 × 223 mm, positive terminal on the left). Verified equivalent alternatives: Tudor TE1853 and Exide EE1853.
- Better tolerance to deep discharge than a conventional starter battery.
- Powers tachograph, fridge and heater during rest stops.
- Resistant to constant chassis vibration.
- EFB: the evolution of the conventional battery for basic Start-Stop cars.
Size, terminals and hold-down of the Fulmen FE1853
In terms of format, the Fulmen FE1853 measures 513 × 223 × 223 mm (length × width × height) and weighs 46.40 kg. The positive terminal on the left decides which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes most buying mistakes, so check it before ordering. It uses a B00 hold-down and 1 terminals, the system that anchors and connects it in the vehicle. Before replacing it, measure your current battery tray: if all three dimensions and the terminal positions match, the swap is direct and needs no adapters.
What the Fulmen FE1853 is for
Designed for trucks, buses, tractors and heavy machinery, the Fulmen FE1853 withstands constant chassis vibration and discharges during stops with active loads. Check that it matches your current battery in dimensions, terminals and hold-down: this reference has a weight of 46.40 kg, 1 terminals and B00 hold-down.
The Fulmen FE1853: StrongPRO EFB+ range and EFB technology
The StrongPRO EFB+ is the Fulmen range the FE1853 belongs to: it shares the same construction and quality criteria with the rest of the series, and varies in capacity and format to suit each vehicle.
EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) technology reinforces the conventional lead-acid battery with a polyester separator and carbon additives in the plates. It withstands many more start cycles and partial discharges, making it ideal for basic Start-Stop and intensive use.
What Fulmen does differently
Fulmen is the historic French brand of the Exide group: batteries made on the same lines and with the same technology as original equipment, widely used by workshops across Europe. At baterias.com we work directly with the manufacturer or its official distributor: real stock, brand-new product and official warranty.
Official warranty
The Fulmen FE1853 comes with the manufacturer's official warranty against manufacturing defects. An important note for commercial vehicles: most trucks use two batteries connected in series (24 V installation). If you replace only one, the new battery works alongside the old one, which has already lost capacity; that imbalance shortens its life and the manufacturer may treat it as misuse. Always replace both at the same time.
Usage and maintenance tips
A charger with an EFB or smart conventional mode is enough; avoid the high-voltage modes intended for AGM. In 24 V installations, check periodically that both batteries show the same voltage; an imbalance means one is failing.
When you get it and how to return it
Order before 6:00 pm with stock available and it leaves today: mainland Spain and Portugal receive it in 24-48 working hours, the islands and the rest of the EU in 3 to 5 days. You have 14 days to return it if it has not been installed, with free collection on the mainland, and shipment tracking by email.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Fulmen FE1853 an EFB battery? When is EFB used?
Yes. The FE1853 is an EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery): flooded lead-acid reinforced with plate additives. Withstands more cycles than a conventional but fewer than an AGM. Fitted to trucks with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). More affordable than an equivalent AGM, lifespan 4-6 years.
Is the Fulmen FE1853 battery suitable for Start-Stop?
Yes. As EFB technology it is designed for Start-Stop vehicles. EFB batteries cover basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking). EFB is recommended for basic Start-Stop; AGM is recommended when regenerative braking is also present, thanks to its higher cycle capability. It works straight out of the box — on most modern vehicles registering the battery via OBD is recommended so the alternator automatically applies the optimal charging profile.
Why does my lorry have two batteries?
Most lorries, buses and tractors run on 24 V with two 12 V batteries connected in series. Always replace both at the same time and with the same model: if one is new and the other old, they become unbalanced and both last less.
How long does the Fulmen FE1853 battery last?
Expected lifespan of the Fulmen FE1853 is 5 to 7 years in lorry use, even with high power draw while parked. In cold regions it drops slightly due to cold-start stress; in very hot regions it also drops because of electrolyte evaporation. To extend its life: avoid deep discharges (headlights on with engine off), have the alternator checked yearly, and keep the battery clean and properly secured.
What are the dimensions of the Fulmen FE1853 battery?
Dimensions (length × width × height) are 513×223×223 mm — also written as 513x223x223 mm — following the European DIN standard. Always measure the space in your truck before buying: even one extra millimetre can prevent the hold-down clamp from closing. The height shown includes the terminals.
On which side is the positive of the FE1853 model?
Polarity: positive on the left. To identify it, place the battery in front of you with the terminals facing you and check which side the positive (+, marked with a red ring) is on. Before buying, verify the polarity matches your current battery: switching polarity forces longer cables or system reconfiguration, with short-circuit risk.
Does this battery fit my truck?
Three options to confirm: 1) enter your number plate in the finder (DGT/DVLA/KBA auto-detect your model and engine); 2) check the "Compatible vehicles" tab on this page, where we list every vehicle verified by our technical team; 3) if you cannot find your model, message us on WhatsApp with brand, model, engine and year — we reply during business hours (Mon–Fri 10:00–13:30 and 16:30–18:00 (Spanish time, CET)). The FE1853 fits 141 verified vehicle versions in our database.
Which interchangeable batteries are there for this one?
Directly interchangeable batteries (same dimensions, same polarity, same Ah and CCA) are the OEM equivalents from leading brands: Bosch, Tudor, Exide and, depending on the model, Banner or Yuasa. Exact equivalence depends on technology — an EFB cannot be replaced with a conventional battery in Start-Stop trucks. See the "Equivalents" section to view recommended options at the same performance level.
When is EFB fitted instead of AGM?
An EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is a flooded lead-acid battery reinforced with plate additives (carbon and polyethylene) and thicker grids. It withstands twice the cycles of a conventional battery and handles deep discharges better, but less than an AGM. It is the original fitment on trucks with basic Start-Stop (no regenerative braking): Renault Energy TCe, Peugeot/Citroën PureTech, Fiat MultiAir, Hyundai/Kia ISG, Ford EcoBoost. If your truck came with EFB from the factory, this is the correct battery — upgrading to AGM is optional (marginal improvement). If it came with AGM, EFB may fall short: better fit AGM. The Fulmen FE1853 is original and meets EN 50342-6.
Will my truck recognise the new battery automatically?
On most trucks it is not strictly necessary — the alternator detects the new battery and adapts the charge automatically. It is recommended to register the battery via OBD so that the alternator applies the optimal charging profile from the first minute and extends the battery life as much as possible (especially on brands with sophisticated BMS: BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover). Any workshop with an OBD scanner (~10-15 € labour) does it in 5 minutes. DIY apps: VCDS / Carista (VAG), Bimmercode (BMW), iCarsoft. If you do not register, the truck will still start correctly — the alternator just takes a few days to adjust the profile. The Fulmen FE1853 ships factory-charged at 80-90% so you can use it straight after fitting.
