EXIDE MARINE DUAL ER

Exide Marina Dual ER: the all-round dual purpose marine battery

The Exide Marina Dual ER (Endurance Range) series is the heart of Exide's dual purpose battery family: marine-grade flooded lead-acid (FLA) construction that withstands vibration and moderate discharges, handling both engine cranking and the continuous draw of on-board equipment. A proven balance of robustness, capacity and price.

Models in the Marina Dual ER series

• Exide ER450 — 80 Ah, for small craft and outboard motors with basic equipment.
• Exide ER550 — 100 Ah, the middle ground for speedboats and yachts with fishfinder, GPS and VHF radio.
• Exide ER650 — 140 Ah, the biggest reserve: long fishing days or nights at anchor with higher consumption.

How to choose your ER starting and house battery

Estimate your daily on-board consumption and pick the model whose amp-hours (Ah) leave headroom without deep discharges; the more electronics, the more capacity. Compare the three models by size, capacity and price in our battery comparator.

Frequently asked questions about the Exide Marina Dual ER

What does dual purpose mean on the Marina Dual ER?

It combines both on-board jobs: it delivers the burst of current needed to crank the engine and also withstands the prolonged discharge of lights, fishfinder or radio, which a pure starter battery does not tolerate well.

What is the difference between the Exide Marina Dual ER and the EZ?

The ER (Endurance Range) is the mid-to-high flooded dual purpose range, with capacities up to 140 Ah; the EZ is the entry-level series, up to 115 Ah, aimed at more occasional boating.

Does an ER battery need maintenance?

As a flooded lead-acid battery it deserves a start-of-season check: clean terminals, a full charge and, where the design allows, the electrolyte level. A maintenance charger over winter extends its service life.
