In the EXIDE Marina Start AGM series the electrolyte is absorbed in glass-mat separators (AGM): the battery is fully sealed, will not leak even when the boat planes or pitches, and delivers more cranking current per size than an open flooded battery. That makes it the preferred AGM boat battery for sports craft and engines with a high electrical demand at start-up.

What are the advantages of a marine AGM battery over a conventional one?

It is sealed and maintenance-free, cannot spill acid, copes better with vibration and rough water, and packs more cranking current into the same space. In return it costs somewhat more than a conventional starting battery.

Does a Marina Start AGM need maintenance?

No. Being sealed AGM, there are no levels to check or electrolyte to top up; just keep it charged over winter storage with a suitable charger.

Can I use it for house loads on board?

That is not its job: it is a pure starting battery. For fridges, lights or electronics over long discharges, choose a deep-cycle battery such as the EXIDE Marina GEL or Marine Li-Ion.

EAS900 or EAS1100: which one do I need?

It depends on your engine's minimum CCA: the EAS900 (75 Ah, 800 A) covers mid-size outboards, while the EAS1100 (92 Ah, 950 A) is the option for large engines or harder starts.
