Varta has launched a new range of batteries with the xEV badge to replace the traditional range of AGM batteries.
This is a commercial approach intended to indicate to the market that the batteries manufactured by AGM technology are not exclusively used for start-stop vehicles and that they can be used in electric and hybrid vehicles.
Therefore, the old reference in Varta (models D52, E39, F21, G14 and H15) can be replaced without any problem by their equivalent models in the new range (models A8, A7, A6, A5 and A4) since the benefits and the characteristics do not change.
In the following table we indicate the equivalence in references of the new models with the old ones:

It could be said that the Varta E39 battery and the Varta A7 battery differ only in their sticker. That is, it is a commercial nomenclature change. All the performance and characteristics of both batteries are equivalent.

Can I replace a Varta E39 battery with the new Varta A7 battery?
Of course, as it is the same battery. Additionally, since February 2023, Varta no longer manufactures the old reference, which has been discontinued. If any are found in the market, they are likely to have been manufactured some time ago.
Can you get us a Varta E39 battery?
The manufacturer no longer provides the old Varta E39 reference. Therefore, we cannot provide the old reference. Moreover, it is not recommended to look for it because if found, it means that it has been manufactured some time ago.

The Varta E11 Car Battery and the Varta E43 Battery differ in two things:
- The performance of the E11 model is slightly higher than that of the E43 model. Thus, while the first has 74Ah of capacity and 680A of starter, the second, that is, the E43 model, has 72Ah of capacity and 680A of starter. That is, the same starting capacity and 2Ah less capacity.
- However, the most important difference is the height, so while the E11 is 19cm tall (190mm), the E43 model is 17.5cm (175mm) tall.
This last difference makes the Varta E11 Battery unsuitable due to height for some vehicle models.
This is especially relevant in some car brands such as OPEL or FORD, which usually require a lower battery.

Recommendation: If your vehicle is an Opel or Ford brand, check the height of the currently installed battery. If you are 17.5cm tall, buy the E43 model.
The difference between Varta E11 battery and Varta E12 battery is the location of the positive pole. In the rest of the characteristics and benefits they are equivalent: same measurements, same capacity (Ah), same starting force, etc ...
Thus, while the Varta E11 battery has the positive pole on the right side, the Varta E12 battery has it on the left side of the battery.
