Renewable Energy Batteries

The renewable-energy battery is the silent core of any distributed generation system that must run off-grid: solar PV off-grid, self-consumption with storage, small wind (rural, marine), mini-hydro and hybrid solar+wind+genset. Different from a car battery: here you need thousands of cycles at 50% DoD over 10-25 years.

Four technologies: OPzS (flooded tubular, 20-25 years), OPzV (sealed gel tubular, 18-22 years), deep cycle AGM (10-12 years, entry), LiFePO4 (4,000-6,000 cycles at 80% DoD).
