The Varta D33 lorry battery is the 12 V, 66 Ah model with 510 A of cold cranking power (EN) from Varta's ProMotive SLI (formerly ProMotive HD) range, intended for lorries, buses, large vans and machinery. It replaces the original battery with no modifications in lorries using the 278 × 175 × 190 mm format: the same 66 Ah capacity and the same terminal layout (positive on the right).

Format and fitting of the Varta D33

The Varta D33 is made in the 278 × 175 × 190 mm format and weighs 16,80 kg. Manufacturer's warranty

The Varta D33 battery comes with the official manufacturer warranty. One important warning for commercial vehicles: most lorries carry two batteries connected in series (a 24 V installation). If you replace only one, the new battery ends up working alongside the old one — which has already lost capacity and has higher internal resistance; that imbalance means one is overcharged while the other falls short, it shortens the life of the new unit, and the manufacturer may treat it as misuse and void the warranty. That is why it is always advisable to change both batteries at the same time.
