Format and fitting of the Varta E44
The Varta E44 is made in the 278 × 175 × 190 mm format and weighs 18,3 kg. The positive terminal on the right determines which side the cables end up on: it is the detail that causes the most buying mistakes, so it is worth checking before you order. It uses a B13 hold-down and terminal 1, the system that anchors it to the vehicle's battery tray. For the swap to be direct, the space taken by your current battery must respect those three dimensions and the same terminal layout; otherwise adapters would be needed or the hold-down would change.
The Varta E44 and the Dynamic SLI range
The Dynamic SLI is Varta's entry range for vehicles with traditional starting (without Start-Stop), bringing what used to be the Blue, Silver and Black Dynamic series together under a single name by technology. Its lead-calcium construction with optimised separators puts the emphasis on punchy starting and a long, maintenance-free life.

Care and maintenance
To get the most out of it, keep the alternator in good order and avoid leaving lights or accessories on with the engine switched off. Repeated very short journeys are its main enemy: they stop the battery from recharging fully and shorten its life. If the car is going to stand unused for weeks, it is worth disconnecting the terminal or using a trickle charger so it does not drop below the safe threshold. Making sure the terminals are clean and properly tightened also helps towards reliable starting.
