Frequently asked questions

It depends on the engine. Tesla Model 3 owners mostly buy Varta B32 Dynamic SLI 45Ah (47.95 €), Optima YTR-2.7 Yellow Top 38Ah (214.50 €) and Varta E11 Dynamic SLI 74Ah (74.95 €) from us. The table shows the recommended battery for each engine with its price (VAT included) and a link to its page; with your number plate or VIN we tell you the exact one in seconds.
Between 47.95 € and 214.50 €, VAT included, depending on capacity and technology (AGM, lead-acid). Start-Stop versions (AGM or EFB) sit at the top of the range because they withstand many more cycles.
By the registration year: Model 3 (2017-2025). If your year falls in the overlap between two generations, tell them apart by body type (hatchback, estate or coupé) or use the plate finder, which settles it with no doubt.
Typical signs: sluggish cranking in the cold, headlights dimming on start-up, a battery warning on the dash or electronics resetting. A workshop can check resting voltage (below 12.4 V means discharged) and cranking capacity in a minute.
Standard delivery to mainland Spain and Portugal takes 1-2 working days; other EU countries 4-7 working days. Each product page shows the exact lead time and whether express delivery is available.

How to know which battery your Tesla Model 3 takes

Easiest of all is the number plate lookup: those few characters tell us the precise variant, the engine and the original battery, so you need not check anything else.

You can also work it out yourself: find the registration date in the vehicle documents and locate it in the table. If the year overlaps two generations, the body style — hatch, estate or coupé — tells them apart.

One last check: the label on the fitted battery gives you the reference capacity and cold cranking. Match or improve those numbers, and make sure the case size and polarity suit your battery tray.

Start-Stop: which battery your Model 3 needs

The later Model 3 generations run Start-Stop, which puts the battery through hundreds of micro-cycles a day. These cars require EFB (basic Start-Stop) or AGM (Start-Stop with regenerative braking): fitting a conventional battery instead cuts service life to a few months and the ECU may disable the function. Rule of thumb: never downgrade from the technology fitted at the factory.
