Exide AGM batteries in the EK series are Exide's top range for cars with regenerative-braking Start-Stop: sealed, maintenance-free AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology from 60 to 105 Ah with 680 to 950 A of cranking power (CCA). It is the direct counterpart of Tudor AGM Microhybrid and Varta Silver Dynamic AGM.

Exide AGM: power and cycle life for demanding Start-Stop cars

In an AGM battery the electrolyte is absorbed in glass-mat separators: the battery is fully sealed, maintenance-free and accepts fast charging, so it can store the energy recovered under regenerative braking and withstand far more start cycles than a conventional battery. That is why cars with advanced Start-Stop and heavy electrical equipment are fitted with AGM at the factory — and why it must only be replaced with another AGM.
