The Varta N60 is made in the 242 × 175 × 190 mm format and weighs 16,5 kg. The positive terminal on the right determines which side the cables run to: it is the detail that causes the most buying mistakes, so it is worth checking before ordering. It uses a B13 hold-down and a type 1 terminal, the system that anchors it to the vehicle's battery tray. The Varta N60 and the Dynamic EFB range
The Dynamic EFB range (silver label) uses EFB technology, an enhanced lead-acid design for entry-level Start-Stop systems and vehicles with high energy demand. It withstands far more cycling than a conventional battery.

Care and maintenance
In a vehicle with Start-Stop the battery works far harder, so it pays to drive far enough for it to recharge and to always replace it with the same type (AGM for AGM, EFB for EFB) so the electronic management stays in calibration. To get the best from it, avoid very short journeys, which stop it recharging after each start. Keeping the terminals clean and the hold-down secure prevents vibration-related faults in the engine bay.
