How long does a lithium motorcycle battery last?

In normal use, several times longer than lead-acid: over 2,000 charge cycles versus 300–500 for an AGM. The BMS prevents the deep discharges that shorten life.

Does it cope with the cold?

Yes. Below 0 °C the battery needs to "wake up": switch the ignition on for a few seconds (lights, dash) before starting and it recovers full power.

Will my usual charger work?

A lead-acid charger without desulphation or equalisation modes works; a charger with a lithium mode is ideal. Never exceed 14.6 V.

How much lighter is it than lead-acid?

A third to a half: the ELTX9 weighs 0.7 kg versus roughly 3 kg for a lead-acid YTX9-BS.

Does it need maintenance or activation?

No. It arrives sealed and charged, with no acid, and the built-in BMS protects against overcharge and deep discharge. Just recharge it if it sits unused for months.

What about warranty and delivery?

Official Exide warranty and express delivery in 24-48 h; 14-day returns.

Exide Li-Ion lithium motorcycle batteries: light, powerful, with BMS

Exide Li-Ion (LiFePO4) lithium motorcycle batteries: the lightest, most powerful way to start your bike. They weigh far less than an equivalent lead-acid battery, deliver more cranking current, barely self-discharge and include a BMS that protects against overcharge and deep discharge.

Pick yours by the code of your current battery: every Exide ELT model directly replaces the lead-acid YTX, YTZ and YT references (ELTX9 = YTX9-BS, ELTZ7S = YTZ7S, ELTX14H = YTX14-BS…), same size and polarity. Express delivery and official warranty.

Can my bike run lithium?

Check your motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations. As a rule, any 12 V petrol bike with a charging regulator in good condition (13.8–14.6 V) will usually accept lithium; choose the Exide ELT model matching your YTX/YTZ code.

What is my equivalent?

ELTX9 = YTX9-BS, ELTZ7S = YTZ7S, ELTX14H = YTX14-BS, ELTX20H = YTX20-BS… check the label code or find your bike.

Which charger do I need?

One with a lithium mode, or a lead-acid charger without desulphation or equalisation. Never exceed 14.6 V.
